PRE-DEPARTURE INFORMATION

Calendar

Students of intake 2010 are expected to arrive in San Luis Potosí end of June. The start of their preparatory phase including a language course will be July 5th in San Luis Potosí. Lectures of the first semester will begin August 16th. A late arrival might lead to difficulties therefore this should be avoided in any case. Arrival dates and times shall be announced to the course coordinators.

Visa

German and Latin American students are requested to apply for a study visa (FM 3) in Mexico prior to departure. Visa application procedure has to be started on time. To apply for the visa, inscription documents are needed.

Latin American and Mexican students will have to apply for a German study visa prior to third semester. Entering Germany with a tourist visa will lead to difficulties as changing a tourist into a study visa is not possible.

Inscription and Fees

Students will be inscribed at both universities, thus tuition fees will be due at both institutions. As students usually are scholarship holders, no study fees have to be paid in Germany.

Accomodation

PMPCA and ITT will assist the students in finding a suitable first accommodation in San Luis Potosí and Cologne.

Travel

The travel to San Luis Potosí and Cologne has to be arranged by the student itself. Students have to take care to arrive in time. Usually PMPCA and ITT will arrange a pickup at the airport/train station/bus station.

Insurance

Students will receive a health insurance in Mexico/Germany for the duration of their scholarship. The insurance is part of the scholarship.
