CONTENT AND AIMS
The four-semester international master
programme takes place in Mexico and
Germany. It aims at preparing professionals
in the field of environmental management
and natural resources management. The
graduates will be prepared to understand,
analyse and assess complex environmental problems and to develop and evaluate solutions.
these solutions are often related to the fields of urban or rural planning, more specifically
to the water, land use or energy sector.
Next to basic knowledge regarding environmental sciences and resources management, each student
has the option to shape her/his own profile by choosing among several specialized areas and
modules (different choices at both study places – see further below for details).
The successful graduates will have a high level of communication skills allowing them to discuss,
present, and negotiate successfully. In addition, they will be equipped with intercultural communication
skills, cultural knowledge related to the involved countries and a profound knowledge on international
development cooperation institutions and projects. The content of the programme will be conveyed by
employing diverse didactical methods like group work, problem based learning, and the incorporation
of field visits. Furthermore, the acquisition of knowledge on relevant information and communication
technologies will be an important asset of the graduate of this program.
